Your calendar is a mirror of your authority

Too many meetings, too little progress? A four-move reset for your time and focus.

Welcome back to R & R, everyone!

You sat at the kitchen table with your laptop open in front of you, trying to listen as your child or friend recounted their day. A calendar alert appeared on your screen, and you see an invitation, “Project Alignment Check-In, 7:30 a.m.”

Tomorrow’s schedule barged in and stole the evening.

Your work calendar quietly and constantly takes control of your personal one. Bedtimes stretch later. Dinners grow colder. Your physical presence on the home front thins, not from lack of devotion, but from too many competing claims on your time.

Your calendar carries more power than you might realize. It is an authority ledger. The blocks on your calendar indicate who has the authority to use your time, which tasks require your attention and talents, and what work you are allowed to own.
